A Bit About Me

Dr. Savage is an adjunct professor at Florida Institute of Technology teaching MGT and BUS; as well as mentoring and guiding students to respect and consider the global implications of technology in this new world.

Dr. Savage graduated Phi Kappa Phi with her PhD from Florida Institute of Technology, College of Engineering and Science, Department of Computer Engineering and Sciences in Human-Centered Design. She also holds degrees in Media Arts & Science/Human-Computer Interaction, M.S.; Communication, B.S.; and Psychology, B.S. Her studies include combining technology and psychology researching and designing proactive approaches for mental wellness topics like suicide intervention and prevention and isolation relief. Her dissertation ‘Socialization of Veterans Using Virtual Reality,’ was published along with several peer-reviewed articles and papers pertaining to innovative approaches to health and wellness using virtual reality, video games, and virtual social environments.

She was awarded a grant to build an interactive simulation that teaches students about suicide intervention and prevention. She worked for the federal government helping research, design, and develop innovative technology and methods to improve the quality of life for the underrepresented.

Dr. Savage was recruited by Microsoft Research Asia in Beijing, China, human-computer interaction to help research and develop state-of-the-art systems that improve presentation communication. Her contribution was accepted and presented at CHI'13.

Currently, Dr. Savage is finishing her first novel titled, Red Fever, and plans to launch it Spring 2023. This contemporary fiction, who-done-it novel will have your head spinning as you devour each chapter. You can't stop the slow plummet of falling in love with every flawed character.
